Spibelt review Part II

So the test run is complete (a decent 3 mile run around my neighborhood) and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised!! I wore the belt low on my hips nice and snugly and most of the time I did not feel it bouncing. I had my phone and keys (even though I did not need them) and was glad to have my phone to stop and take a picture of what I saw...a huge turtle!!
After taking the picture I did struggle with getting my phone back in the pouch and noticed it was a bit bouncy but was able to fix that. All in all I was happy with the Spibelt ...but I am not sure my quest for the perfect solution to my problem...where to put everything I need while running....
Until next time, keep running and stay strong

Spibelt Review Part I

Recently while on a run with a friend, we decided that we need some kind of belt to carry all of our "stuff"....phone, keys, money, ID and in the future some  type of energy source (GU, beans...) while we run.
So the quest for just the right belt begins.
I have been fortunate that the lovely people at Spibelt have been so kind as to send me one of their belts to try out.
First impressions:
Cute
Small
Will it really hold all I need it to hold?
The answer is YES!

This afternoon I will be taking it on a test run to see how it feels while running.  My concern is that there will be too much bouncing and that things will fall out if I open it while running if I needed to get to something.
Stay tuned.....
Keep running and stay strong

My Come back

As many runners who have had injuries know, getting back to where one once was is not always an easy thing.  Last year at this time I was running about the same milage but at a 11 minute pace...now I am at a 12 almost 13 minute pace.  Discouraging?  Yes it is.
I am working on it though....I am almost at my goal weight, I have been doing strength work at the gym, and I am also doing the Nike+ Kinect training game for X Box 360.  If I get back down to 11 minute miles then I will of course be happy, but if not then I am just going to have to accept that it just might not happen.  I can only do so much.
Next up is the Cinco de Miles race on May 5th which is going to be a blast...ok the run is not going to be too much fun but the after party with The Millennium Running Social Club is!   My goal is to just run the entire race the best of my ability and then move on.
Looking in the future, I have a couple of half marathons I am looking into....The Old Port half marathon in Old Port, Maine in July and then Smuttynose Rockfest in Hampton, NH in October.    There will be other 5Ks sprinkled in there.
So until next time, keep running and stay strong!

Starting over

So here I am having one of the laziest Saturdays ever and loving every second of it! I have been horrible about keeping up with this blog but honestly there has not been much to say. I have spent the last month or so recovering from a bruised tailbone that made running or working out at the gym impossible. So I am currently working at getting back into shape...I really lost a lot. Couldn't believe how aweful my legs felt on the elliptical at the gym!!
So my next race is May 5th so I am going to be working hard to be ready for that. I am pretty sure I can do that.
Until next time...hopefully before next month ...happy running!!
